Road Impacts

To deliver a safe and secure event for participants and spectators, there will be impacts to roads and changed traffic conditions. We understand that events such as the ProVelo Super League Brisbane can alter the regular flow of traffic and every effort is being made to consider individual circumstances and minimise inconvenience. 

To avoid any confusion there will be:

– Special event signage posted throughout the community in advance of the event
– Flashing VMS signs in key areas
– Detour signage on the event day
– Barricading to ensure cars and cyclists don’t meet.

On the event day, map apps such as Google and Apple Maps will automatically calculate a reroute around the road closures.

The ProVelo Super League Brisbane on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 March will include the following type of road impacts: 

Full Road Closure
Roads are closed in both directions.

Full Rolling Road Closure
Racing takes place across both lanes under a Police escort that includes support vehicle convoys. Motorists must stay behind a group of cyclists racing and not overtake until there is an additional lane to do so. General traffic approaching the convoy is stopped on the side of the road by Police. Delays are usually 30-60 seconds.
